What we cover

Our focus is the connection between destination choice and practical preparation. We explain how vessel condition, crew capability, navigation information, changing weather and arrival planning shape a reasonable cruising itinerary.

We organize the subject into four working areas: passage choices, navigation and weather, marinas and anchoring, and vessel and crew checks. The aim is a clearer planning conversation, not a longer list of places to reach.

What we do not provide

We are not a hydrographic office, harbour authority, charter operator, weather service or rescue organization. We do not supply live navigational warnings, confirmed soundings, berth availability or personalized route approval. No page certifies a yacht, an anchorage or a crew as safe.

How to use the editorial guidance

Read a guide to identify the questions you need to resolve. Then verify the answers through current charts, official notices, applicable regulations, local operators and competent practical advice. When information differs, investigate the discrepancy rather than choosing the version that best fits the itinerary.

Place names are geographical context, not recommendations for a particular approach or berth. Photography illustrates the maritime setting and must never be interpreted as current conditions or navigation data.

If a statement appears unclear or inaccurate, send the page address, the passage concerned and an authoritative source where possible. Do not include sensitive voyage details or rely on an editorial reply for an immediate decision. We do not promise a response time or continuous monitoring.
